Carmel Mountain Ranch or CMR is a community in the northeastern part of the city of San Diego, California.
Geography
The community is located west of Poway, south of the Rancho Bernardo, east of Rancho Penasquitos, and north of Sabre Springs.

Retail
Carmel Mountain Plaza has several dozen retailers.
The Carmel Mountain Ranch Town Center contains specialty businesses.
There is a business park which includes the Carvin Corporation.
Transportation
Main thoroughfares
Interstate 15 is located on the west side of Carmel Mountain. Carmel Mountain is located at the eastern end of State Route 56, the Ted Williams Parkway. Carmel Mountain Road is the main North-South artery.
Community events
Every year the San Diego North Chamber of Commerce hosts the Fall Festival. Local businesses, community organizations, and schools host booths. This year's fest will be held on September 14.
Also, every Christmas, graduates from Meadowbrook Middle School host the "CMR Olympics".
Each year graduates of Oregon State and the University of Oregon gather at the Irish Pub to watch the "Civil War" together. The alumni of the losing team then have to purchase four dozen tamales from Sombreros for the victors.

Highland Ranch Park: Located north of Eastbourne Rd., just northeast of Highland Ranch Road.

High schoolers feed into Rancho Bernardo High School in Rancho Bernardo.
